Two days and an argument
It has been two days since the lad next door has had a visit from the devil. Although the torturing was beyond belief the lad does not seem to have any bruising or physical injuries.
If you are wondering why I called him ‘lad’ is that we had a bit of an argument over his naming. As you may recall I named him ‘nemon’ – it is not a bad name. But he wasn’t too happy with it. So I said its better than none, after all I cant keep calling him ‘lad’ can I.
We tried to come up with a name for him over the last day, what else can you do in a prison?
Darin, Sarek, Jamin, Rodi, Crapulus…
But no, none were to his liking. So we ended up with ‘lad’. I think it is better when he is being tortured.

Stepping out of the normal
You see, the thing is people live in a normal world and expect normal things to be happening to and around them. A thief like myself is adept in taking a step sideways out of the ‘normal’ world and surprising the money rich person.
Let me illustrate, today I walked around the market square visiting the drinking places of some repute (what’s the point of robbing poor people, you only have to go and rob them again the next day) anyway the places were filled with ‘normal’ people and as providence would have it I was dressed in my ‘normal’ clothes too and so blended in er… normally.
A drink or two and a joke had them eating out of my hands, and my hands had other things in them after only a few more minutes. And…believe it or not that was the procedure all around the square.
Time to put my feet up and enjoy, see you later…
Hey Deana come over here…

Experience
Energetic though Marc is, he really lacks in experience. It was a distraction but I am not going to spend my nights teaching him the subtler points of pleasuring a woman. I wonder if Jani, my co-worker would be more inclined to? I will mention it to her tomorrow. I don’t mind sharing or indeed giving.
Speaking of Jani, she heard today that Shadroc is going to see a priest to magically heal his leg. I can’t believe it! Am I going to have that man haunt me forever? Priest are expensive and so this could be just a rumour, or that Jani is bitching me. She better not be or she will be needing a healer.
Torture
Direon was down here for two hours interogating Nemon, (I gave the young lad a name). But it was no good. The lad obviously has no memory of anything. It was a bad thing though, the lad was screaming in agony. I had to keep quiet, didn’t want any attention to be drawn to me. A single word from the wizard and I would have beed dead dwarf meat.
Tried to reach over to my neighbour, but couldn’t. Atleast there is no bleeding. I think the wizard needs to keep him alive. But the screaming…boy that was some pain he put the lad through. I wonder what Direon wants from him.
The guards didn’t bother to feed us again, I know I wanted to lose some weight but this is going too far.

The road
It looks like I am a dead man in this city, maybe it is time to hit the road. I managed a chat with a Sag last night, but Khan still won’t go for it. Bastard! Well, might as well be killed for gold than for platinum. So my plan is simple, have a horse ready at the south gate, do a couple of quick jobs tonight and then it is good bye to Seamire.
Khan is a man of principles – he ain’t going to give up on me that easy of course, so I think I will pay his demesne a little visit by the back door and who knows what I could walk (run) out with.
Wish me luck, I am going to need it for sure!
Patience
You sit and wait and wait and wait. The art of a thief, no, a great thief is to be patient and act only when the time is right. Last night I sat on the roof of Dulgar Redriver, Yes, he of the caravans, for more than four hours. But the right time didn’t come.
Sometimes it just happens that way, a lesser thief would have his head hanging from Redrivers gate because he went in anyway. But no one has accused ‘Vinos as a lesser thief!
I will elucidate more on the art of the great thief later, for now I am still in need of my pockets filling.
Memories
The young lad in the cell next to me has finally got round to being conscious for more than a few minutes. It seems that he has lost his memory or, whats more likely is that the wizard has done something to him.
Strange though, because he speaks and understands languages ok as well as knows the names of things, for example cell, prison, crap food (yes we have been fed again). But cant remember anything of his past or how he got here.
I wonder if the medallion he is wearing has anything to do with his problem, he can’t take it off for a start. Magic!
Damn the wizard, how long is he going to keep me here before he…probably kills me, Hmmm I wonder if…I suppose we had better find a name for my neighbour.
Flights of fancy
Marc, the young baker at the end of my street finally asked me to lunch with him today. He has a beautiful body certainly something I wouldn’t say not to but…he does bang on a bit about how he is going to join the Rakers. All he needs is that one big break. Yeh, like I haven’t had that before?
I think I will run him along for a while…perhaps tonight we will play some music…hmmm
The rain has stopped finally, I doubt if it was my prayers that stopped it. But it will help with the workload tomorrow. Sorry to bang on about washing, but I do spend thirteen hours a day doing it – so you can’t expect me not to mention it.
Well, with a man as keen as Marc, I don’t need any help in the prettying up department. though you can’t blame a gal for wanting to look her best can ya.
Later…ummmm yummy!

New guy on the block
Wow, that was tough work. Finally managed to wake the ‘new’ guy in the cell next to me. He seems to be really groggy and doesn’t make sense when he talks. I don’t know if his problem is magical or what.
At least he speaks the lingo. I managed to get a few words out him “help” and “me” – Yep I was surprised too.
The guards didn’t bring any food today. I don’t know if that is a good thing or not, considering what I got yesterday. I hope this new guy comes too pretty soon. A conversationalist like me needs to speak his mind.
Ahhh I remember what I was going to do now…go to sleep
New prisoner
They have just moved a new prisoner into the next cage. He is unconscious. more later
